Last night, Elena asked her father if he knew what a Publican was.
Dan said yes, he did.
Elena asked him to explain what he knew.
Dan said, "A publican used to go around, gathering money from people to give to the kings or the government - the people who do things for other people.. That way, with that money, they can run the country and provide services for the people living there."
Elena said, "Wrong, Dad. A publican was a tax collector."
